#IMEX18 Frankfurt Wrap-Up: Changing the Way We Experience Meetings

IMEX-2It was another great year at IMEX Frankfurt! Thousands of meeting and event planners from over 150 countries came together last week to discuss issues facing the industry, as well as learn about the hottest technology trends. Here are  just a few things our team found most memorable during our time in Germany!

She Means Business

This year, it was exciting to see IMEX introduce She Means Business, a brand new conference for meeting and event strategists to collaborate with and learn from inspiring speakers on crucial issues facing women in the meetings industry. Some highlights included The Women in Events panel, German fighter pilot Laura Winterling as the keynote speaker, and meeting industry leaders signing the PCMA CEO pledge for equity and diversity.

Getting top questions answered

Throughout the event, both IMEX presenters and attendees alike took advantage of Slido, an audience reaction and interaction tool to help facilitate Q&A sessions and provide instant feedback and live polls. Not only did it keep attendees engaged, but it helped get their most important questions answered about hot industry topics. In fact, the etouches team used Slido during the Q&A portions of our presentations related to GDPR.

Changing the meeting perspective

Talk about elevating the meeting expierence! In a partnership between C2 International and IMEX, attendees were able to take their meetings to the sky, literally, with The SkyLab. With the idea in mind to change people's perspective of how to host meetings, IMEX attendees were able to experience how it feels to have a meeting in mid air, in seats suspended from the ceiling. It was an unforgettable sight to see!

Only in Ireland

There were so many great booths from the countless countries and places represented at IMEX, but Meet in Ireland's booth (F420) with its welcoming Instagrammable sheep really stood out! From performances from actual Irish step dancers, to blind food tastings of local fare, to it’s annual iconic Irish Party with live music, the organization made its booth experience truly memorable!
